This 2510 sqft family home is designed for a young family on a small in-fill lot. Fate was very challenging just over 2000 sft with an access easement on a portion of the southwest corner. This created a situation where the building footprint covered most of the yard, so it was essential to capture outside the structure. This led to the inverse map (live at the third level), so that key areas easy access to outdoor space, light and views. The owners created a welcoming contrast by their choices in furniture and curtains. For a visual connection to the street, we design the stairs to the main living level transparent, so you can see and feel the activity. The upper level opens to a west facing deck and exterior staircase leading to a viewing deck that Ballard robbery and overlooking Puget Sound.
